School Counselors help:

  • Adolescents and young adults to deal with the many changes they face
  • Adolescents and young adults develop positive attitudes about school and the world of work
  • Students learn to effectively deal with everyday problems and concerns
  • Schools, families, and communities to effectively meet the needs of young people through collaborative efforts
  • Provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program
  • Refer students/parents to other professionals within the school system and the community as needed
  • Assist in career exploration
  • Work with students, parents, and staff members through a team approach to meet the needs of adolescents and young adults
