TJ Press Release on AP Scholars

The College Board recently announced AP Scholars for the 2018-2019 academic year. More than forty students at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy have earned this distinction for exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.
National AP Scholars: Emma Carter, John Kim, Jonathan Shauf, and Turner White. These students have earned an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of AP exams.
AP Scholars with Distinction: Samantha Betor, Wesley Earle, Hunter Gowan, Thomas Hicks, Dalton James, Kamryn McDonald, Alexandra Neal, Zachary Pairman, Sunshine Parton, Robert Powell, Pierce Robinson, and Grace Whittemore. These students have earned an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
AP Scholars with Honor: Talyn Carpenter, Bryson Smith, Tela Swafford, Virginia Vaughn, and William Waters. These students have earned an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
AP Scholars: Ariel Akuneme, Lauren Bennett, Ashley Birchfield, Grayson Blake, Chase Clatanoff, John Collins, Sarah-Ann Easter, Dylan Emory, Sophia Hayes, Dennis Kean, Logan McMurry, Thomas McMurry, Tulsi Patel, Jackson Pitcher, Elijah Poe, Trevlyn Riggs, Bethany Scott, Milee Shah, Ansley Tallent, and Meredith Teddy. These students have earned scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
TJCA-CFA offered twenty AP courses during the 2018-2019 academic year for college bound students to earn college credit at the best colleges across the country. More than 80% of the members of Thomas Jefferson’s graduating class in 2019 earned credit for at least one Advanced Placement course during their high school career.
