TJCA Archers Take Second at National Tournament!

TJCA Grammar School students place second in national archery tournament

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) hosted their Indoor National Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Duke Energy Center on March 8th and 9th in conjunction with the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) Indoor Nationals. ​S​tudents participated from 83 clubs and teams and 18 different states​, and they​ competed for the title of “National Indoor Champion” in their divisions​, both​ individually and as a team.

Fourteen ​arch​ers from Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy competed including, Lauren Allen, Wesley Allen, Sully Edwards, Ethan Greene, Jack Hamrick, Eli Lineberger, Brianna Mellon, and Greg Tice, from the grammar school and Landon Allen, Victor Diaz, Emma Lineberger, Katherine Robinson, Manny Schlichtmann, and Keeley Thompson, from the Middle School. ​ ​Seven TJCA coaches attended the event as well. The grammar school team placed ​second​ overall and Sully Edwards placed third in his division and fourth overall elementary male out of 113 shooters.

The mission of the Scholastic 3D Archery program is to foster, educate, and guide youth in areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The TJCA Archery Team is always in season with practices and participation in indoor and outdoor tournaments throughout the year.
